QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW

The motto of this course is to validate the skills of site-based people working in the engineering construction industry against national standards. The course targets on the skills craftsperson’s needs in their every day life of their work, giving employer’s confidence in the level of competence of their employers.

HOW THE QUALIFICATION IS ASSESSED?

Our Steel fixing NVQs are shown on-site by one of our experienced and professional NVQ Assessors. participants will be assessed by one of our specialist Construction Managers and the entire process will be done using a variety of communication methods to match the skills of individual.
The assessment is being made via the portfolio of evidence.

Units essential are

  • Contribute to effective working relationships in steel erection
  • Work safely and minimise risk in steel erection
  • Identify and deal with hazards and emergencies in steel erection
  • Move structural steel sections under supervision
  • Install structural steelwork components
  • Work safely at height on steel structures
  • Assemble bolted joints in structural steelwork


Assessor will visit you how many times?

To complete this course of NVQ it is essential that one of our assessors visits you and investigates you working first hand in your job role. During the whole course, you will have the 4 visits from one of our assessors.
